Canadian Balsam Fir was the Christmas tree of my childhood, and I can’t pour this Fir Needle Oil without being taken back to that time. Balsam Fir, like many of the Conifer Oils, is useful for chest colds, bronchial problems, etc. It is especially called for to loosen a dry, tight cough. This is a safe and effective oil to diffuse for respiratory ailments with babies and/or toddlers. Fir is a warming oil, and, as such, is useful in rubs for arthritis, rheumatism, and other forms of joint pain. Emotionally it is said to be grounding and calming, effective in anti-anxiety blends. Safety: No warnings except oxidation in old, improperly stored oils. It is a wonderful ingredient in any room-scenting blend, blending well with Basil, Black Pepper, Cajeput, Cedarwood, Eucalyptus, Frankincense, Ginger, Lavender, Lemon, Myrtle, Niaouli, Peppermint, Pine, Rosemary, Rosewood, Tea Tree, Thyme. For a Christmas scent, blend it with a citrus, either Orange or Tangerine or Mandarine, and add just a touch of the spice oils, Cinnamon and/or Clove. SHELF LIFE: Approximately 2 to 3 years after you open the bottle. Storing in the dark, refrigerated, and decanting half full bottles into smaller, full bottles will extend shelf life. GC/MS Analysis: February 2011 February 2015, CA-15B13-B1 Batch No: CA-15G10-ALK1-1-AS Batch No: CA-ABBACAN04QC2 Batch No. CA-CAN04QAC Batch No. CA-CAN05SC3 Batch No. CA-58964 Batch No. CA-59115 Batch No. CA-59437 (Current Batch, Analysis in Process) Abies balsamea canadensis, organically produced, steam-distilled needles, Canada. * Respiratory oil safe for babies & children * Emotionally grounding and calming * Warming in rubs for arthritis, rheumatism & joint pain

More evidence needed for this report

What the evidence tells you

1 report connected; 1 directly linked by the supplier. Read the evidence before comparing chemistry.

Supplier report information is available
Documented

1 source document archived

The downloaded source document is preserved with its content fingerprint, so later changes do not overwrite the evidence. Archiving alone does not establish its report type or quantitative validity.

Documented

Report linked from the product page

Evidence gap

Chemical extraction needs review

Automatically extracted figures are visible for inspection. They are excluded from historical anomaly conclusions until the extraction is reviewed.

Evidence gap

Comparison context is incomplete

Missing or unconfirmed: plant part, extraction method, origin, percentage basis. Unknown values are not assumed to match known values.

Evidence gap

Repeated constituent identity needs checking

More than one extracted row identifies the same constituent. Its percentage is withheld from the comparison until the source rows are resolved.

Evidence gap

Source extraction has review notes

Additional source extraction notes require review against the original document. The percentage measurement basis requires confirmation. The source includes reproduction restrictions; the archived original remains private.

Evidence gap

Not enough comparable history to assess differences

A range requires at least three earlier, reviewed original reports with the same botanical, chemotype, origin, plant part, extraction, analysis method, percentage basis and storage context. Missing and trace values are never replaced with zero.
