Like all Lavandins, this variety is a hybrid of Spike Lavender and Lavender Vera. Its aroma is less floral than Lavandin Super (the Grosso refers to its discoverer, not its scent!). It has a touch of spice to its aroma, mixed with the herbal lavender notes. I find the Super a bit more relaxing and still prefer it for relaxation and stress relief, but for inflammation, the Grosso definitely has a role to play. Lavandin Grosso contains terpineol-4 and linalyl acetate which make it a good antiseptic and stimulating oil. Useful in treating skin conditions such as acne and sluggish skin. I’ve seen it recommended as the oil of choice for scabies and other infectious skin diseases. It is a good addition to cold and flu remedies with its proven germ killing ability, as well as its ability to stimulate the respiratory system and ease breathing. Jane Buckle states that Grosso was shown to be very effective against non-tubercular opportunistic mycobacteria (NTM) which is common in AIDS. She also states that “Grosso is high in linalol for infections.” A blend of Lavandin Grosso and Spike Lavender is recommended for respiratory disorders, either by inhalation, or massage. SHELF LIFE: Approximately 2 to 3 years after you open the bottle. Storing in the dark, refrigerated, and decanting half-full bottles into smaller, full bottles will extend shelf life. Evidence gap

Original analytical report status needs confirmation

These source documents are saved, but their status as original laboratory reports is unconfirmed or they are publisher summaries. They remain outside historical anomaly conclusions.

Evidence gap

Chemical extraction needs review

Automatically extracted figures are visible for inspection. They are excluded from historical anomaly conclusions until the extraction is reviewed.

Evidence gap

Comparison context is incomplete

Missing or unconfirmed: plant part, extraction method, analysis method, batch, percentage basis, exact analysis date, origin. Unknown values are not assumed to match known values.

Evidence gap

Source extraction has review notes

The percentage measurement basis requires confirmation. Additional source extraction notes require review against the original document.

Evidence gap

Source extraction has review notes

Some source peak rows could not be fully verified or quantified. Additional source extraction notes require review against the original document.

Evidence gap

Not enough comparable history to assess differences

A range requires at least three earlier, reviewed original reports with the same botanical, chemotype, origin, plant part, extraction, analysis method, percentage basis and storage context. Missing and trace values are never replaced with zero.
