About this composition

This Indonesia-specific fresh ginger record is anchored to a public COA for a steam-distilled Indonesian fresh rhizome oil and cross-checked against Liberty Natural's Indonesia COA. Compared with drier ginger profiles, the Indonesian fresh-rhizome material keeps a brighter citral edge while still carrying a strong sesquiterpene backbone led by alpha-zingiberene and alpha-curcumene.

A TRADITION OF BOTANICAL CURIOSITY

Traditional & reported uses

These uses reflect the profile's reported traditions and literature. They are not established treatment recommendations.

  • traditionally used in aromatherapy for a warming, grounding effect
  • reported to support digestive comfort, especially before travel, in folk aromatherapy use
  • used in massage blends for a warming sensation and muscle comfort
  • traditionally associated with a sense of energy and motivation, often noted as brighter/fresher than dried-rhizome ginger oils
  • used in perfumery for its bright, juicy, spicy-fresh top note

For aromatherapy and wellness use only — not medical advice. Effect statements are traditional/reported associations, not treatment claims. The Synergy Rating scores blend craft, harmony and safety, not medical efficacy. Read the safety framework.

What we're still learning · 2 data gaps

Good decisions start with knowing what is — and isn't — in the evidence.

  • Odor intensity 72 is a normalization of the COA and supplier language describing the oil as sweet, warm, earthy, fresh, and spicy rather than a native published 0-100 sensory score.
  • The COA table also lists several unnamed/ambiguous peaks ('sesquiterpene' 1.05%, 'sesquiterpenol' 0.93%) and minor named peaks lacking a corpus CAS match (zingiberol, beta-curcumene, 2-heptanol, trans-carveol, hexanal, 6-methyl-5-hepten-2-ol, alpha- and alpha-trans-bergamotene) that were not added in this pass to avoid introducing unverified constituent identities; closure remains below 0.95 as a result.
