A cited maximum is a limit, not a suggested dilution. Missing restrictions do not establish safety.
Expressed Persian lime is handled under the public IFRA standard for Lime oil expressed. The standard sets a 0.70% maximum acceptable concentration for Category 5A and related leave-on categories because of phototoxicity.
Contraindications & cautions
- majorCold-pressed Persian lime should be kept at or below 0.7% in leave-on products on UV-exposed skin because of phototoxic furocoumarins.

About this composition
This profile is anchored to a 2024 GC profiling report for cold-pressed Citrus latifolia oil from Mexico. Persian lime expressed oil is limonene-dominant with substantial gamma-terpinene and beta-pinene, and the batch report also shows trace furocoumarins including bergapten and isopimpinellin, which aligns with the public IFRA phototoxic restriction for expressed lime oil. This record was extended in a subsequent closure pass by adding eleven additional quantified peaks (sabinene, myrcene, neral, trans-alpha-bergamotene, neryl acetate, terpinolene, alpha-thujene, para-cymene, beta-caryophyllene, alpha-terpinene, terpinen-4-ol) directly from the same PhytoChemia GC-FID consolidated analysis summary (Lot No. 002229) already cited in this record, raising closure from approximately 0.87 toward the target reference-data closure band.

What we're still learning · 2 data gaps
Good decisions start with knowing what is — and isn't — in the evidence.
- Odor intensity 45 is a normalization of supplier language describing a soft tart sweet aroma rather than a directly published 0-100 measurement.
- No public source located in this pass gave directly measured volatility-rate or tenacity-hour values for expressed Persian lime oil.
